.—The forms κυέω and κύω seem synonymous, but κυέω ([etym.] κυῶ) is the better-attested form in [dialect] Att. Prose (κύοντα only v.l. in Pl. Tht.151b, κύοντες is read in Arist.HA544a23 (v.l. κύονες, ποιοῦντες) , κύοντα ib.585a3, κυόμενα (v.l. -ούμενα) Pr.l.c., κυόμενον (v.l. -ούμενον) GA730b4, butκυοῦντες HA610b3

ls.59.13).—The [tense] pres. κύω has [pron. full] ῠ in verse, but forms of κῠέω can be restored by altering the accent.—The causal sense belongs only to the [tense] aor. ἔκῡσα.
